[War_ooc] Alive or dead? What happened to XM-8?

Actually what I've heard is that deveopment of the M-8 has been suspended due 
to procurement issues.  There was a stink raised about it not being 
competitive, and from my understanding there were a few field issues.  (Melting of the 
plastic components for example during sustained fire tests.)  As it stands, 
the M-8 seems like it'll be placed up against a new Colt rifle, which is to be a 
derivative of the current M-16, made naturally lighter and with who knows 
what other features.  

In any case, I watched the field testing video of the M-8, and although I 
have a few reservations about the set up, it seemed to be an excellent field 
rifle.  Rumor has it the new M-16 derivative will be better in some aspects...

Can you tell I'm drooling already?  ;-)
