Hold off.

I've been quiet lately, my apologies. RL issues had to be dealt with.

A draft sort of plan on reviving WAR:

1. Before we do much more, -we need a webmaster-. Someone who can
handle everything; Dan used to, but he's being eaten by grad school.
The webmaster picked needs to prep the website for the new scenario,
something that will probably require a redesign.

2. Once we have that, we'll write up a history of the world between
our POD and the date I am tentatively picking for the beginning of
WAR's new scenario: January 20, 2013.

To accomplish 2: Everybody see what Ian wrote, Japan 2013?

I need that for your countries. Maybe not that long, but I need that
for your countries.

Some people need to say what countries they're picking, or even if
they're going to be playing (Chris?).

I'll be writing one for the US soon enough.

Why do I need them?

I'll be looking them over, trying to ensure there are no mutual
inconsistencies, among other issues.

I'll then turn it into one complete document, part of a history of the
world, and hustle it to our webmaster for conversion to web use and
posting.

3. At that point: If we finish before February is out, the way our
messages are archived encourages me to start play on March 1 (messages
are archived by the month).

If we don't, we can figure something out.

With that said:

We need a webmaster. DESPERATELY.

The person needs to be reliable and have excellent HTML skills.

If they have skill with PHP and MySQL, that's a bonus, as it lets us
consider hacking the Simm Management System for our use.

If not, okay.

If they can do Flash or Java, great.

They don't need to play WAR. Just be able to handle our Web tasks.

It's really a requirement before we resume, because we otherwise are
going to have immense trouble getting new players.

Also:

While I'm going to be sticking with WAR, I will have voc rehab
starting...soon. No idea when exactly now. I'm happy to remain as a
GM. However...Chris? You've been quiet for, er, all of February.

You still with us?

Similarly, Dan is eaten by grad school.

It'd be helpful if I had a backup GM who can step in when I'm nowhere
near a comp.

So...screw elections. Anybody want to step up?

John
