------
ABQAIQ, Saudi Arabia (AFP) - Saudi Arabian special forces stormed the
militant-occupied oil processing facility here early this morning,
bringing the hostage situation that had sent oil prices soaring to an
end in a hail of gunfire.

Negotiations had been fruitless, authorities said, and the decision to
go tactical was made by His Majesty the King at 1 am local time.

Out of an attacking force of 50 militants, identified as being from Al
Qaeda in the Land of the Two Holy Mosques, 8 were killed, and 42 were
arrested by Saudi forces, handcuffs allegedly applied by the King
himself - Along, curiously, with the arrested being read their Miranda
rights by the King, say hostages.

Unfortunately, the tactical resolution was not completely successful,
with 3 hostages being shot by Saudi forces and 10 wounded in the
assault. Names have not been released.
