President Abdullahi Yusuf,

Brother, owing to recent events it has become necessary for the Federal 
Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to re-inforce its presence in Baidoa to 
regimental strength. The situation is clearly deteriorating, and in the 
anticipation of conflict in the Baidoa region it is believed that, for the 
sake of the safety of the Transitional Government, a stronger Ethiopian 
presence is required.

The Union of Islamic Courts is our common enemy, and you can rest assured 
you have the full support of the Ethiopian government and its people in 
resisting them. We will make every effort to ensure that our shared goal - a 
democratic, peaceful, secular Somalia - is attained.

support and detailing the deployment of more Ethiopian troops in Baidoa.
